The Vineyard
The Carbunup Crest vineyard is located on Yelverton Road, Wilyabrup in the Margaret River Region, Western Australia. This area is renown for the production of Premium Cabernet Sauvignon and is inhabited by some of Australia's most outstanding wineries. While Cabernet Sauvignon is the flagship varietal, the region is also famous for the production of premium quality Shiraz, and Carbunup Crest has been privileged to win a number of significant awards with this variety.
Carbunup Crest grapes are grown on 20 acres of established vineyard where they maintain a balanced canopy, using the traditional grape production formula of 4.5 tonnes to every acre. The formula maintains a high quality grape, meeting the high standards expected of a super premium product grown in the Margaret River region.
The grapes are processed at Flying Fish Cove Pty Ltd, located on Caves Road, Wilyabrup. Flying Fish Cove is partly owned by Carbunup Crest Wines. The facility employs well-respected, innovative vigneron Elisabeth Reed as the winemaker supported by wine consultants, Janice McDonald and Winenet.
